Face Your Fears

Are there places you want to go, things you’d like to do, a job that you desire to end/a business you desire to start, or a relationship you wish to pursue or end, but fear has you bound? You fear failure, the thought that things won’t work for you and you don’t want others to know that you tried and failed. Well…in order that you live a fulfilling life, you must step out of your fears today.

Yes, right now, realize that the most successful people in the world are those who have failed the most. Just to name a few: Abraham Lincoln went off to the war as a captain and came back a private. He tried being a lawyer and congressman and failed. He became very depressed and perhaps suicidal, but went on to become one of our greatest presidents of all time.

When Sidney Poitier went to his first acting gig, he was told to stop wasting people’s time and to go be a dish washer or something. He said he made up in his mind that day to make a career out of acting. The rest is history.

Thomas Edison failed 1000 times in trying to invent the light bulb. And when it was asked of him, “How does it feel to have failed 1000 times” he politely replied, “I did not fail 1000 times, but I created 1000 steps to the invention of the light bulb.” It’s all about perception and how you perceive yourself, not others. Walt Disney was fired from a newspaper job as they told him he “lacked” imagination. WOW! He filed bankruptcy many times. So, I say to you, get up today and simply “Do It Afraid.”
